Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is also known as endodontics. Root canal treatment is required when tooth decay has broken through the outer enamel and has progressed deep into or near the pulp of the tooth. Also, sometimes teeth become non-vital (die) as a result of previous decay and/or trauma. These can be restored to health with root canal treatment. Contrary to popular belief, root canal treatment is painless and very predictable (> 95% success rate). The alternative, extracting the tooth, leads to other severe problems such as mal-occlusion, shrinkage of the jaw bone, etc.
Whenever possible, we believe in saving teeth for a lifetime, and often root canals can help achieve that goal!
